Cyclone Idai in Mozambique

MERCY AIR’S HELICOPTERS AND AIR PLANES BRINGING SUPPLIES TO THOSE AFFECTED BY CYCLONE IDAI

The initial rescue phase of Cyclone Idai has passed and now begins the second phase of getting food, clean water, and medical supplies to those who lost everything. Mercy Air is working together with. Wings Like Eagles, MAF Mozambique, Airbus Foundation, YWAM, and other partners to bring supplies to those further away from the city of Beira who are harder to reach.

Although the water has subsided, new groups of isolated people are being discovered daily and supplies brought to them. Some villages have gone 12 days since the cyclone without aid.

Mercy Air is delivering food and supplies to affected isolated communities all over central Mozambique. The village pictured, Espungabera, has been cut off on all sides due to bridges being washed away.
