Cyclone Eloise

Hurricane Eloise slammed into the south central coast of Mozambique on January 23 carrying with it sustained winds of 100 miles per hour and torrential rainfall totaling over 10 inches. Beira, the second largest city in Mozambique, took the full force of the storm which has left thousands homeless. The storm then continued to track westward into the south and central parts of this impoverished country bringing floods, wind damage, downed power lines, destroyed crops and misery.
